About Me
Hello and welcome to my voice studio! My name is Chelsea, and I offer individual instruction for singers. I am a soprano with a master’s degree in vocal performance. I have spent years performing as a soloist and with choirs in countries around the world: France, Switzerland, South Africa, China, Singapore, and The Philippines. I’ve had the opportunity to sing with symphonies and chamber ensembles, perform opera and musical theatre, and give several solo recitals. I want to create those kinds of opportunities for my students as well.
I am originally from West Michigan, where I grew up playing in band and orchestra, and singing in choirs. By the time I got to college, I decided to focus on singing and teaching. I spent a few years teaching K-12 music in a classroom and in private lessons. When I moved to Colorado, I pursued my master’s degree in vocal performance so that I could continue to grow as a teacher and performer. Students in this studio will benefit from my years of practice, performance, and education.
In my studio, I use my knowledge of the voice, repertoire, and styles to meet the needs of each student. I love to sing music in the classical repertoire, but I know how to apply the principles and techniques of healthy singing to a variety of styles. I am passionate about helping every singer learn how to use their voice in a healthy way. We can work on learning specific songs, preparing for auditions, expanding your range, singing on key, or whatever your ambitions might be. I want to help you reach and surpass your goals. If you are interested in voice lessons, let’s talk!
